Eric Reckeweg, 30 Years Building Kitchens and Bathrooms That Last

Carolina Installation Services was built on one idea: treat every homeowner the way you would want to be treated in your own home.

How 30 Years of Hands-On Work Became Carolina Installation Services

I have been doing this work for 30+ years. Kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, cabinets, trim, new construction, residential remodeling. I have worked through enough projects to know how all the parts connect, and I have made enough mistakes early in my career to know exactly what not to do on yours.

I started Carolina Installation Services because I kept seeing homeowners get burned. Contractors who gave low estimates to win the job and made up the difference in change orders. Projects that dragged on without communication. Work that looked fine at first glance and fell apart in two years. I knew there was a better way to do this, and I knew it came down to one thing: treat every homeowner the way you would want to be treated in your own home.

That is the Golden Rule, and it is not a tagline for me. It is how I run every project. I will not take on a job I cannot deliver properly. I will not upsell you on something you do not need. If the honest answer to your question is a smaller scope or a different contractor, I will tell you. My business is built on homeowners who trust me enough to send their neighbors to me. That does not happen if I give them anything less than the truth.

CIS is not a big operation. It is skilled, focused work from someone who has been doing this long enough to know what it takes. I know kitchens and bathrooms. I stay in that lane because staying in that lane is how I do the best work for the homeowners I serve.

Treat every homeowner the way you would want to be treated in your own home.

What 30 Years of Experience Actually Means for Your Project

Thirty years of kitchen and bathroom work means Eric can tell you within the first visit whether the scope you have in mind is realistic for your budget. Most homeowners come in with a vision and a number that do not match. Eric helps you close that gap before a dollar is spent.

He knows how decisions made early in a project affect the outcome at the end. Cabinet selection affects countertop options. Layout choices affect plumbing costs. Tile decisions affect timeline. Eric understands the sequencing and the dependencies, which means fewer surprises from start to finish.

He has worked alongside the full range of trade professionals and can coordinate the pieces that need to come together for a clean result. For projects requiring expanded trade coverage, CIS partners with Fix It Up NC.

Eric is also NKBA affiliated and BBB A+ rated. The NKBA affiliation reflects a commitment to kitchen and bath industry standards. The BBB A+ rating reflects the way CIS handles its business. These are not vanity credentials. They are checkmarks that tell you this contractor meets a standard and holds himself to it.

A Business Built on One Principle

Eric does not use pressure tactics. He does not walk into a consultation with a pitch ready. He walks in to see the space, understand the goals, and figure out what the project actually requires. If that means recommending a smaller scope, he recommends the smaller scope. He would rather give you an honest answer and lose the job than take on a project he cannot deliver the right way.

That standard runs through every part of how CIS operates. The estimate is written and itemized so you know exactly what you are paying for. The timeline is real. The communication is direct. If something unexpected comes up during the project, you hear about it before it affects the schedule or the cost, not after.

This is not how every contractor operates. It is how CIS operates. And it is the standard every homeowner who works with Eric can expect.
